Lilly the White Queen - Moonflower Digis

Recently my blogging friend Anne Lise asked if I would participate as a guest designer on her blog and of course I instantly agreed.  The image she sent me to work with is Moonflower Digistamps Lilly the White Queen.  The theme for the post was to be 'recycled' so I went into my scrapbox of paper and found the green(ish) cardstock and the purple/green paper.  I love the sparkle in this girl's eyes but oh man... that hair!  I'm not really good at the long, flowing hair and I really dreaded putting Copics to paper on this one.  I did the hair first in case I messed up and wouldn't have to give a completely coloured image the 'heave-ho'.  Anyway, I kept the whole thing quick and simple and didn't even add much in the way of embellishments.
More snow!  What is that about?  It's April 24th for goodness sakes!  I actually don't mind this so much because the temps are warm and by the end of the day, there's still some laying in the yard  but the streets are clean.
Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

Top Knot - All Dressed Up

It's April 15th so that means it's time for a new challenge over at the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog and the DT has some lovely creations for us to drool over.  While you are there, why not enter the challenge?  It' always Anything Goes and the only rule is that you use an All Dressed Up image.
For my card, I chose to use the cute Top Knot image and you can find her at the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop.  If a few more just happen to fall in your cart while you are there, you aren't held responsible because they are all so cute that it's hard to stick with just one.  And really, who sticks with just one?
Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

Butterfly Bunny - All Dressed Up

It's time for a new release at All Dressed up and once again, you aren't going to be disappointed with her sweet images.  For my card,  I am using the cute Butterfly Bunny which is just in time for Easter but still general enough to be used at any time.
I tried the dotty technique for doing fur and although I don't hate it, I need to practice a little more before  I am totally happy with it.  At any rate,  I like it better than plain gray with no texture.
What a gong show though... I wasn't happy with the placement of the die cut and managed to get gobs of glue everywhere.  I looked at it a few times and decided I should try to pull it off and get it a bit straighter.  Wowsa... by the time I was finished and managed to get all the excess glue off the card, my fingers were sticking together like it was a rerun of I Love Lucy.  Gotta love those glue erasers though, they are fantastic for boo-boos like this.
Be sure to enter the All Dressed Up Blog Challenge and remember, it's always Anything Goes but you must use an All Dressed Up image.  There is also a Facebook Challenge and the theme for it is Feature a Creature.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Harry the Stuffie Gets Happy Mail

Can you believe March is done and gone already?  I don't know where it went, it just flew by for me. April means another challenge at Making Memories Crafting and this month we have a colour inspiration as the challenge theme.  It's a very pretty colour palette which ranges from a powder blue to a very soft lilac:
Our sponsor this month is Scrap n Dipity and they have a fab selection of digital images and some pretty papers.
For my card, I decided it was time to dig into that large pile of Stamping Bella stamps I have. With us moving, I barely stamped beyond May of 2016 but that didn't stop me from buying them. This little guy is Harry the Stuffie Gets Happy Mail and I decided to try the dotting technique for fur texture. It's ok but I definitely need more practice.
Well, time for me to wrap it up and get some supper cooking! I've been trying to cook more, eat out less and overall make a serious attempt at being healthier. Who knows... maybe exercise is the next thing!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Feeling Spoilt - All Dressed Up New Release

Hi there and welcome to the All Dressed Up March release.  Wendy has given us four new gorgeous images to work with this month and my card is made with Feeling Spoilt.  This leggy gal along with the other three new ones are available now in the All Dressed Up Etsy store.
Be sure to pop by the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog where you can see gorgeous makes by the rest of the design team.  While there, why not enter the challenge?  It's always Anything Goes and the only requirement is that you use an All Dressed Up image.  There is also a Facebook fan page and a monthly challenge there as well.
My photo is a tad crooked... got a new camera and am still trying to figure it out.  I was having an awful time with the old one because the pictures seemed to look so faded so we'll give this one a whirl and hopefully it works out.
Happily, winter is on it's way out here in Saskatchewan Canada and I'll be so happy to see the hind end of it as it leaves.  It's been a very mild winter with very little snow and the temps have been quite mild.  So funny, as soon as we get a day with the temperature above freezing, I see all kinds of people at the mall wearing shorts!  I would be frozen... and what gives me to giggling is that in the fall when we have the first cool day with the same temp, everyone is commenting on how cold it is.  Spring is my favourite time of the year and although we can still have a couple months of winter weather, I know it's not going to last much longer.
Thanks for popping by and have a great week!

Delivery Fairy - A Day for Daisies

Today is the start of a new challenge at Making Memories Crafting and the theme is 'Add Some Layers' so unless you are doing a CAS project, this should be an easy one to follow along.  Our generous sponsors are A Day for Daisies and The Cutting Cafe.  I chose to use the Cute Delivery Fairy from ADFD for my card.
I kept my card fairly simple because I am still trying to familiarize myself with the new craft space.  It's getting easier to remember where I put things, but every time I sit down to make a card, it's like someone sneaked in during the night and moved and hid my 'stuff'.   Sadly, that 'someone' is me. hahhahah.... I do think once I have everything moved to where I want it, this craft space is going to be much better than what I had, simply because it's so much bigger.
Do pop on over to  Making Memories Crafting and check out the gorgeousness the girls on the team put together for this challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.

Love Heart - All Dressed Up

It's time for a revisit the February release at All Dressed Up. There are four new and gorgeous images for this release.  I was lucky enough to be given Love Heart to use.
Even though this is not the kind of image I usually pick but I'm really quite pleased with this card.  I am still struggling to find some things in my craft room because I haven't got it all sorted yet and am at a loss as to where my sequins went.  They were what I originally intended as an embellishment but they aren't visible right now and I get too distracted when I begin looking through boxes.  I forget what I initially went looking for and then start putting a few things away, looking for where I put the rest of 'these things' and well... you know the drill.  I have the attention span of a pea sometimes.
Pop on over to the blog to check out the new images, see what the DT has come up with and while you are there, why not enter the monthly challenge?  As always, the theme is Anything Goes but you must use an All Dressed Up image.  Wendy has some adorable freebies here and you can buy any of her art at the Etsy Store.  You can also join the Facebook group where there's lots of chatter, a challenge and mega talent.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Just Married - Blackberry Jelly

After a long break from card making because of our big move, I am finally back!  Not the most organized yet but I am back.
I was so thrilled to be asked to join the newly formed Making Memories Crafting Challenge and today I am here with my first card.  The first challenge was in January and we have so many gorgeous entries so thank you to all who joined in to make it such a success.
For Challenge #2, the theme is Valentine/Use Some Red and our sponsor is Blackberry Jelly. The image I chose is called Just Married.
